Bilingual
Bilingual is a turn-based RPG Prototype that combines gameplay with language as a mechanic. As the player interacts with the game, they get exposed to the game's implemented language (In this instance, Polish) to interact with Characters, Objects, Lore, and Combat.
The premise is that the player is set in a foreign land that he must explore.
From interacting with locals, the player can learn the native dialect/vocab. This would give the player opportunities in different encounters and make the game more understandable and cohesive as they progress.
The project would ideally blend elements of traditional RPG design with linguistic challenges, with an inspiration towards Slavic mythology.
The idea of this project is to investigate ways language can be incorporated into a game, how it can be used as a mechanic to propel player progression and expose the player to foreign words and perhaps interest the player in learning or investigating a language.

This is a great way to engage with learning languages! Way more fun than duolingo
Loved the game concept, was wondering if can do other languages too like mandarin, korean and brazilian.

I love the idea that progression isnt just tied to getting upgrades and becoming physically stronger, but in learning the language and gaining the knowledge, you can get better through that.
Love the 2.5D style, mixing pixel art into a 3D environment. Also, learning language as a form of progression is very cool. Would like to see more!
